When I saw him the news was not good. It was a root canal gone bad. Infection had set in, and the options were to remove the tooth, or perform an apicectomy. I opted for the latter due to the lower cost and wanting to at least try to save the tooth.

My gum was cut open, and a hole was drilled in my jaw bone, through which the infected tooth root was removed. My gum was then stitched back up (5 sutures) and all seemed good.

An hour later the anaesthetic wore off. Ouch!!!

2 days later I still have pain and swelling and am hoping that things will return to normal soon. I know I’m whining, but eating with my mouth in this condition is a real bitch!!

My Xbox stopped recognizing discs (game, DVD, or CD) on Sunday. What kills me, is that this is the fourth Xbox that has failed on me on the last 12 months.  I think I’m cursed.  No “red rings of death” (yet!).  The first was returned with the problem of discs not being detected in the tray; the next two whined that the games discs needed to be inserted into an Xbox360 console (that right, my Xbox told me this), and now the last one has again run into the discs not detected problem again.

So, once again, its time to get my console swapped out.  Clearly, the number of consoles failing is huge, as the local retail outlet no longer does the swapout, as its handled by some third company organisation, who come and drop off a new console, and collect the broken one.

Microsoft, your hardware sucks!!!

I guess I usually do this more to experience the technology which makes it all possible, but who knows, maybe I somehow build enough momentum to make this something that is at least mildly interesting.
